Coolant is important for good performance. Having the entire system drained and flushed with pressurized water and chemical cleaner can help to keep the coolant clean and fresh. It is recommended to drain and flush between 30000 and 60000 miles. Always use the coolant type specified by the manufacturer and mix coolant with room temperature water before adding it to your reservoir. One hundred percent coolant is not ideal in its cooling abilities. Normally 50-50 mix is recommended.
